On December 8, 2024, rebel forces seized control of Syria’s capital, Damascus, after President Bashar al-Assad resigned and fled the country. As the security forces withdrew, the Syrian presidential palace was left unsecured. Rebels and curious locals alike rushed into the compound to explore what al-Assad had left behind. One of the most notable discoveries was a collection of luxury and supercars housed in the presidential garage.

The video, posted on social media, revealed that the former Syrian president had a garage full of expensive cars. Right at the beginning of the video, we catch a glimpse of a red Lamborghini LM002 SUV. This is the first high-riding vehicle produced by Lamborghini, manufactured between 1986 and 1993. Only 301 Lamborghini LM002s were ever made and sold.

This Lamborghini LM002 sits among a fleet of luxury SUVs, including the Lexus LX and a Toyota pickup truck. Next to them are a pair of Toyota FJ utility vehicles, a large Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan, and an Aston Martin Rapide. Of these, the Aston Martin Rapide stands out as a “queen” among coupes. Introduced in 2006, the Rapide was hailed as one of Aston Martin’s most captivating models. However, it was discontinued in 2017.

But that’s not all—al-Assad’s collection also includes a Ferrari F50 supercar with a massive engine under its hood. Produced only between 1995 and 1997, the Ferrari F50 is a rare sight, with just 349 units ever sold. It’s powered by a naturally aspirated 4.7L V12 engine that produces 512 horsepower.

Of course, this isn’t the only Ferrari in the Syrian presidential garage. There’s also the Ferrari F430, of which 16,750 were produced between 2005 and 2009. The F430 is equipped with a 4.3L V8 engine that delivers 483 horsepower and 465 Nm of torque. This enables the car to sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 196 mph.

Another notable car in al-Assad’s collection is a red Lamborghini Diablo supercar. Produced from 1990 to 2001, the Diablo is powered by a mighty V12 engine, allowing it to reach a top speed of 196 mph.

Other luxury and supercars in the former Syrian president’s collection include a Cadillac Escalade, BMW, Audi R8, Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, Mercedes-Benz SLS, Bentley Continental GT, Rolls-Royce Ghost, Audi S8, and a Land Rover Defender. Such cars are not commonly seen in a country like Syria. The total value of al-Assad’s car collection could easily reach several million dollars. The Ferrari F50 alone is worth seven figures.

In addition to the cars, valuable items such as designer wallets and jewelry were also found in the presidential palace. The current whereabouts of these cars and items are unknown, as al-Assad has fled the country.
