## Hanoi Police Seize Multiple Luxury Cars, Gold Bars, and Cash in Fraud Investigation

Hanoi Police have arrested Mr. Pips and confiscated an array of luxury vehicles, gold bars, and cash in an extensive fraud investigation.

Hanoi authorities recently announced the detention of Pho Duc Nam (aged 30), known for his TikTok channel Mr. Pips, on charges of fraud. Nam, a resident of Vung Tau City in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, gained notoriety for his lavish lifestyle and extravagant displays of wealth on social media.

The investigation has led to the prosecution of 31 suspects and the identification of 2,661 victims nationwide. The total value of seized assets amounts to approximately VND 5,200 billion.

This includes VND 316 billion in bank accounts, VND 9 billion in bonds, VND 200 billion in savings, VND 69 billion in cash, 890 SJC gold bars, 246 kg of gold bullion, 31 supercars, 7 luxury motorcycles, 59 high-end watches worth VND 300 billion, 84 gold jewelry pieces with diamonds, and the freezing of 125 real estate properties.

Among the confiscated vehicles are ultra-luxury and supercars such as the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Mercedes-AMG G 63, Lamborghini Urus, Jaguar F-Type, Porsche Taycan, Porsche 911, Nissan GT-R R35, and Ferrari Roma. These cars are valued between nearly VND 10 billion and VND 40 billion each.

Nam is alleged to have colluded with Le Khac Ngo (“Mr. Hunter”), a 34-year-old Hanoi resident, and a Turkish national operating from an office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Together, they established shell companies in Vietnam, engaging in illegal foreign exchange and derivative securities trading.

The syndicate created and managed five English-language websites, misleading investors into believing they were trading on reputable international platforms. This deception fostered trust and lured unsuspecting individuals into investing.

The group’s modus operandi involved providing false information to induce victims to transfer funds to designated accounts, after which they would cut off all communication and disappear with the money. They targeted individuals until they ran out of funds, ensuring maximum financial gain for the fraudsters.
