Details about Honda’s all-new electric CUV, the Ye P7, have just been revealed through documents published by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

While Honda has lagged behind some competitors in the race to develop electric vehicles in international markets, the automaker has been more agile in responding to changing market trends in China. Back in April, Honda introduced the Ye brand, specializing in electric vehicles, and announced plans to launch six all-new electric vehicle models. Among these, the Ye P7 will be the first to market.

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT) disclosed information about the Ye P7. The agency’s documents revealed detailed insights into this all-electric CUV, including its design, dimensions, and performance specifications.

The Honda Ye P7 has dimensions of 4,750 x 1,950 x 1,625 mm in length, width, and height, respectively. Its wheelbase measures 2,930 mm, and it weighs in at 2,305 kg. Thus, in terms of size, the Ye P7 is comparable to the combustion engine-powered Honda CR-V.

It is equipped with a lithium-ion battery pack produced by CATL. The front axle houses an electric motor that generates 201 horsepower, while the rear motor produces 268 horsepower. With this power, the Ye P7 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, significantly quicker than the Civic Type R.

In terms of design, the Honda Ye P7 seems to draw inspiration from the Ferrari Purosangue and the Toyota Crown Sport. It features LED headlights in the shape of lobster claws and a long light bar that stretches across the grille area. At the rear, the taillights mirror the front headlights’ design, accompanied by a stylized “HONDA” logo on the trunk lid. Additionally, the bold character lines on the bonnet and the glossy black wheel arches contribute to the Japanese brand’s sporty and dynamic character.

The images released by MIIT do not provide information about the interior of the Honda Ye P7. However, if it resembles the concept version, this vehicle will feature a massive central touchscreen that integrates all control functions. It will also include a digital instrument cluster and a wireless phone charging pad.

The Honda Ye P7 is expected to be officially launched in early 2025. Additionally, Honda will soon introduce two other electric vehicles: the Ye S7 (CUV) and the Ye GT (sports sedan).
