Skoda pulled out all the stops at VMS 2024, presenting almost its entire international portfolio. Aside from the Kodiaq and Karoq, which were notably absent, the brand showcased the Octavia, Superb, and Enyaq, leaving visitors eager for more details on pricing and availability in Vietnam.
The Octavia, a best-seller in the Czech Republic and internationally, was presented in its vRS iteration, captivating performance enthusiasts. With a powerful 2.0L engine producing 261 hp and 370 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, the Octavia vRS promises an exhilarating driving experience. However, it was the Skoda Superb that truly captivated audiences with its elegant wagon-style design, exuding both luxury and youthful dynamism. The Superb is offered internationally in two body styles: wagon and hatchback, and three powertrain options, including diesel, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid. Skoda also unveiled its electric SUV, the Enyaq iV, featuring a striking neon green color scheme. With a powerful electric motor producing 201 hp and 310 Nm of torque, and a lithium-ion battery offering a range of over 500 km on a single charge, the Enyaq iV is an impressive addition to Skoda’s electric lineup. The MG Stand: A Surprise Entry
The MG booth featured an unexpected surprise with the presence of the IM LS7, a vehicle bearing a distinct logo from the rest of MG’s lineup. The IM LS7 is a product of SAIC, MG’s parent company, and it showcases a host of advanced technologies, including a semi-autonomous driving system supported by a dense array of LiDar sensors. MG also showcased the MG G50, a large MPV designed to compete with the likes of the Toyota Innova Cross, BYD M6, and Hyundai Custin. The G50 offers a spacious 2+3+3 seating configuration, with an optional 7-seat layout available in international markets.

In terms of dimensions, the G50 surpasses the Innova Cross and BYD M6, although it falls short of the Hyundai Custin. Its imposing presence, accentuated by chrome detailing, exudes sophistication and luxury. The highly anticipated BYD Yangwang U8 made its debut at VMS 2024, captivating audiences with its impressive capabilities. Toyota FT-3e: An Electric Concept SUV
While the Toyota FT-3e electric SUV concept took center stage at the Toyota booth, it failed to garner as much attention as expected. The spotlight was instead on the Toyota Camry hybrid, Prado, and Alphard. The FT-3e, previously unveiled at the Japan Mobility Show 2023, features a futuristic design with a distinctive pixel-style light bar across the front grille.
