When it comes to iconic JDM cars, one cannot forget the name Mazda RX-8, a model that any Japanese sports car enthusiast, novice or collector, would dream of owning. The Renesis rotary engine with its 1.3-liter capacity is the signature feature of the RX-8.

The number of Mazda RX-8s in Vietnam is limited, and even fewer are equipped with a manual transmission. Previously, a wide-body kit-modified RX-8 was sold for nearly 1.4 billion VND and quickly purchased by Dang Le Nguyen Vu.

Recently, another manual transmission Mazda RX-8 has surfaced. Specifically, a garage in Ho Chi Minh City acquired the vehicle, refurbished it, and sold it to a customer for 550 million VND. Its uniqueness and the allure of a manual transmission quickly attracted a buyer.

The exterior of this Mazda RX-8 sports a white body with black-painted front and rear bumpers and side skirts, creating a sleek and cohesive look. The car is also fitted with a set of 5-spoke alloy wheels that complement the flared wheel arches beautifully. The interior is adorned with black and brown leather upholstery.

One of the most distinctive features of the Mazda RX-8 is its symmetrical front and rear door design, reminiscent of a Rolls-Royce, but with the added quirk of lacking a B-pillar, creating a captivating style.

As the RX-8 is a sports car designed over two decades ago, expecting modern amenities is unrealistic. Nonetheless, the vehicle boasts a high-quality Bose sound system.

The rear seats offer a cozy space, but the absence of a B-pillar makes entering and exiting the vehicle more convenient for rear passengers.

Under the hood, the Mazda RX-8 is powered by the renowned Renesis rotary engine, with a 1.3-liter capacity, producing a modest 189 horsepower. However, in the 2008-2012 models, this output was increased to an impressive 238 horsepower.

This engine offers a financial advantage to Japanese consumers as its displacement remains below 1.5 liters, which is crucial when considering Japan’s annual road tax. Depending on the market, the RX-8 is available with either a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission.
