The Lamborghini Revuelto is undoubtedly incredibly quick and the new flagship model for the Italian brand. It’s no surprise, given it’s equipped with the latest technology, and if anything, it’s surprising to see it go up against the McLaren 765LT.

Can the McLaren Keep Up? Lamborghini’s 1,000+ HP Takes on the McLaren’s Near-800 HP

The Lamborghini Revuelto, a new model released in March 2023, faces off against the 2020 McLaren 765LT. This seems like an uneven match-up, but let’s take a closer look.

First, let’s look at the numbers. The McLaren, priced at around $500,000, boasts a twin-turbocharged V8 engine that delivers 765 horsepower. On the other hand, the Lamborghini, priced at just over $680,000, features a 6.5-liter hybrid V12 engine that produces a staggering 1,015 horsepower.

This power deficit, coupled with the fact that the Revuelto is an all-wheel-drive vehicle, proved too much for the rear-wheel-drive British supercar. This was evident from the moment the flag dropped in the 1/4-mile drag race between the two cars. The Revuelto shot off the line and never gave the 765LT a chance to catch up.

In fact, the Lamborghini consistently outperformed the McLaren in back-to-back races, showcasing its superior performance. It accelerates from 0-60 mph in 2.7 seconds and completes the quarter-mile in 9.87 seconds. But forget about the 10-second mark because, by some measurements, this car is even faster. It then takes less than 6 seconds to go another quarter-mile, completing the half-mile in 15.34 seconds.

The two supercars also participated in a rolling race, where the Lamborghini’s AWD system wouldn’t have the same advantage over the McLaren. However, the Italian supercar still emerged victorious.
