“I recently acquired a 2021 Vinfast Fadil with 45,000 km on the odometer for over 300 million VND. After some minor touch-ups, I plan to sell it for around 330 million VND,” said Hoang Thai, a car salon owner in Hanoi. According to Thai, the previous owner of the Fadil he acquired didn’t have to spend any money on the car after almost four years of use. The owner sold the car to upgrade to a VF 8 electric vehicle through Vinfast and FGF’s trade-in program. “The previous owner purchased the car through a preferential policy for Hai Phong customers, and the on-road price was only 300 million VND. After using it for four years, they sold it for the same price,” Thai said. For those who bought the car at the original price, the depreciation after four years of use is estimated at around 100 million VND.

This trend is not limited to the Fadil model; other Vinfast gasoline vehicles, such as the Lux A2.0 and SA2.0, have also maintained their value over the years, even experiencing price increases during certain periods, despite no longer being commercially produced by the company.

“For the Lux A 2022 model, I used to buy it for around 550-560 million VND, depending on the condition. However, recently, I had to pay 570-580 million VND to acquire one,” said Tran Vy, another used car salon owner. Compared to the best price of around 650 million VND for the on-road price, the depreciation for the Vinfast Lux A is less than 100 million VND after three years of use.

A survey of several used car buying and selling groups also revealed that the Vinfast Lux SA 2.0 model is being sold for prices ranging from 650 million to over 700 million VND, depending on the version, reflecting a slight increase compared to two months ago.

Vy observed that Vinfast vehicles are in high demand in the used car market, and their value compared to their price is among the best in the market. The reason behind this demand is the proven quality of Vinfast vehicles, which has been established over years of presence on the roads.

“Ten years is a sufficient period to depreciate a car’s value. Therefore, Vinfast users can rest assured during their ownership,” said Manh Thai, another car salon owner. The extended warranty also makes it easier to inspect used cars, facilitating quicker transaction decisions for both buyers and sellers.
