Hyundai has unveiled its new generation Palisade, and although it hasn’t given away all its secrets just yet, a few tidbits from social media give us a glimpse of what’s going on beneath the rugged, Range Rover-inspired exterior.
One very notable reveal is that the 2026 Hyundai Palisade lineup is expected to include gasoline and hybrid options, but no diesel engine.
The new Palisade marks a significant departure from its predecessor in terms of design, adopting a more boxy and premium look. The fresh exterior is paired with an upgraded cabin, and the model destined for the Korean market will feature a three-row, nine-seat configuration, with a small jump seat up front.
According to the leak, the 2026 Palisade stretches to 5,050 mm in length, which is 55 mm longer than its predecessor, falling just 10 mm short of the electric Ioniq 9. This highlights the continued growth in size across the entire range. The wheelbase has also been extended to a reported 2,970 mm, a gain of 70 mm, giving the Palisade some very Range Rover-esque proportions.
The new Hyundai Palisade is expected to continue using an upgraded version of the current unibody platform, but the powertrain is getting a much-needed refresh. Keep in mind, the leakers are referring to the Korean and Asian market versions, so specs and availability may differ elsewhere.
According to them, the old 3.8-liter V6 is gone, replaced by a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 producing 276 horsepower. Next up is a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit delivering a slightly higher 286 hp. And for diesel fans in Korea, it looks like they’ll be in the same boat as new Santa Fe buyers in Vietnam, who only have the option of a gasoline engine.
But fear not, there’s a glimmer of hope for performance enthusiasts. The hybrid version is expected to deliver a more powerful 330 hp while offering a claimed driving range of up to 1,020 km thanks to the combined efforts of a 2.5-liter turbocharged ICE and a single electric motor. That’s quite impressive for a large SUV.
In Korea, the Hyundai Palisade will be offered in Exclusive, Prestige, and Calligraphy trims. According to Korean Car Blog, the color palette will include Ecotronic Gray Pearl, Cast Iron Brown Pearl, Galaxy Maroon Pearl, and Lazzi Blue Pearl, as well as the more traditional Abyss Black Pearl and Shimmering Silver Metallic. These exterior options will be paired with various interior upholstery choices, including gray, navy, black, and sun-kissed brown.
The leaked price list indicates that the new Hyundai Palisade will be priced between 42.5 million won ($29,600) and 57.5 million won ($40,000) in Korea, making it more expensive than its predecessor, which was listed from 38.96–54.91 million won ($27,100–$38,200) depending on the trim and drivetrain.
