The Vietnamese government has announced an extension to the vehicle registration fee incentive program for domestically assembled cars from September to November 2024. This presents a unique opportunity for customers to take advantage of double benefits when purchasing a car. Joining in on this incentive, several automotive manufacturers have also offered their own promotions on registration fees for their SUV models, with discounts reaching up to tens of millions of Vietnamese Dong.
Honda BR-V and HR-V
Honda is offering a 50% discount on registration fees for its two SUV models, the BR-V and HR-V, throughout November. The BR-V MPV, available in G and L variants with prices ranging from VND 661 to 705 million, can now be purchased for as low as VND 628 to 670 million after the applied discount. Additionally, customers who purchase the BR-V this month will also receive a one-year shell insurance policy and official accessories from the dealership. As of the end of September, the BR-V has sold 1,177 units.

The B-sized SUV HR-V also comes with registration fee support, with total benefits amounting to approximately VND 34.5 to 43.5 million. The HR-V is currently offered in three variants, with the G and L versions priced between VND 699 and 826 million, while the RS version costs VND 871 million.
While the HR-V may not be the best-selling model in its segment, it consistently maintains stable sales figures. As of the first nine months of the year, Honda has sold 6,221 units of the HR-V. It is important to note that this model is distributed through imports and therefore does not qualify for the government’s registration fee incentive program.
Mitsubishi Xforce, Xpander, and Pajero Sport
Mitsubishi is offering registration fee incentives on almost its entire SUV lineup during November. Customers who purchase the Xpander AT Premium will receive a 50% discount on the registration fee, along with a 360-degree panoramic camera and fuel vouchers. The total value of these promotions amounts to approximately VND 72 million. Those who opt for the MT version will also receive a rearview camera worth VND 2.5 million.
The Xpander, available in three variants with prices ranging from VND 560 to 658 million, has consistently performed well in sales over the past two to three years. In the September report, the Mitsubishi Xpander took the lead in the market with 2,688 units sold.

The 7-seater SUV Pajero Sport comes with a promotion of up to 100% on the registration fee and a fuel voucher worth VND 35 million during November. With prices ranging from VND 1.13 to 1.2 billion, customers can expect to save approximately VND 148 to 155 million when purchasing this vehicle.
Ford’s SUV Lineup
Starting November 11, customers who purchase the Territory will receive a 50% discount on the registration fee from the manufacturer. As a domestically assembled SUV, the Territory also benefits from the government’s 50% registration fee incentive program. With prices ranging from VND 799 to 929 million, customers can expect to save around VND 79 to 92 million when taking advantage of these combined incentives.
