Since the middle of 2024, images believed to be copyright registrations of the new Ford EcoSport have surfaced in India.
According to the shared images, the new Ford EcoSport will feature a completely transformed design. The front of the vehicle stands out with its wing-like shape, complemented by a large grille in the center and sharp headlights on both sides.
The new Ford EcoSport is likely to utilize a platform borrowed or co-developed with Tata Motors of India. This strategy optimizes production costs and reduces the vehicle’s price tag, making it more affordable for developing countries such as India, African nations, and Southeast Asian countries. Consequently, this change also implies that the car will not be marketed in developed markets like the US or Europe.
The new-generation Ford EcoSport is expected to be launched in 2025. However, Ford Vietnam has not yet announced the distribution of this model. The EcoSport was introduced in the Vietnamese market in 2014, pioneering the group of small urban SUVs. Over time, its sales declined due to the rise of newer models such as the Hyundai Kona and Kia Seltos. In 2022, Ford announced the discontinuation of the EcoSport.
