The Hyundai Stargazer is a compact MPV that made its debut in Indonesia back in 2022. Fast forward two years, and Hyundai is already working on an updated version of this model. Spy shots of the new Hyundai Stargazer undergoing road tests in South Korea attest to this.
Although the prototype was heavily camouflaged from front to back, we can still discern some of the exterior updates. Notably, the Hyundai Stargazer will feature redesigned headlights. These new headlights appear sizable and are accompanied by a vertical LED daytime running light strip. Unsurprisingly, the grille and front bumper have also undergone revisions.

The sides of the Hyundai Stargazer remain largely unchanged, except for the new alloy wheels. The car is fitted with a set of five-spoke grey alloy wheels, which are expected to be offered on the lower-spec models. The prominent character line that stretches from the headlights to the front doors has been retained.

At the rear, the Hyundai Stargazer boasts a redesigned set of vertical taillights that extend upwards towards the rear windshield. The rear bumper is also expected to receive design enhancements, featuring new reflectors in the corners.

Unfortunately, details about the interior design, features, and engine specifications of the new Hyundai Stargazer remain undisclosed. However, since this is a mid-cycle update, it is likely to retain the same powertrain options.
The current Hyundai Stargazer is powered by a 1.5-liter Smartstream G naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 115 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 144 Nm of peak torque at 4,500 rpm. This engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and sends power to the front wheels.
The launch timeline for the new Hyundai Stargazer is yet to be confirmed. However, the fact that it is undergoing road tests indicates an imminent launch, possibly as soon as next year.
Indonesia is expected to be the first market to receive the updated Hyundai Stargazer, followed by other markets such as Thailand and Vietnam.
In Vietnam, the Hyundai Stargazer received a mild update in May 2024, which included subtle design changes and additional features like an electronic parking brake, auto hold function, rear disc brakes, front collision sensors, and more.

Notably, the Hyundai Stargazer is competitively priced in Vietnam, with a range of VND 489 million to VND 599 million. This has contributed to its steady sales performance in the country. In the first eleven months of this year, the Hyundai Stargazer recorded cumulative sales of 3,455 units, ranking fourth in the small MPV segment in Vietnam, behind the Mitsubishi Xpander, Toyota Veloz Cross, and Kia Carens.
