According to Tri Thức – Znews, several Haval dealers have started taking deposits for the Tank 300 SUV and confirmed that it will be launched in Vietnam later this year. The sales consultants shared that the car is expected to be available for purchase from the end of November.

The Tank 300 is a rugged SUV model from the Haval brand, which is under the GWM group. Previously, this model has been sold in several Southeast Asian markets, including Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Along with the Jolion, the Tank 300 was one of the two models that GWM Thanh An had planned to introduce in Vietnam earlier this year, but they have not yet made their debut.

According to the sales consultants, the Tank 300 will be imported directly from China and is expected to be delivered to customers starting in the first quarter of next year.

The Tank 300 has a bold and rugged design, reminiscent of the Jeep Wrangler. Its dimensions are 4,790 x 1,930 x 1,927 mm (length x width x height), with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. The boxy shape, prominent wheel arches, and high ground clearance highlight its off-road capabilities.

If it follows the specifications of the model introduced at the Bangkok Motorshow 2024, the Tank 300 sold in Vietnam will offer two engine options: a gasoline and a hybrid version. The gasoline version will be powered by a 2.0L turbo engine, producing 217 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque.

The hybrid version combines a 2.0L turbo engine with an electric motor, delivering a total output of 344 horsepower and an impressive 648 Nm of torque. This hybrid setup is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and an AWD system.

In its home market of China, the Tank 300 is also offered with a diesel engine option, generating 180 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque.

The expected price range of the Tank 300 in Vietnam is between 1.4 and 1.7 billion VND. This pricing positions it above its competitors in the segment, such as the Hyundai Santa Fe (1.069-1.365 billion VND) and the Ford Everest (1.099-1.468 billion VND). In addition to the higher price, the brand’s origin may also pose a challenge for the Tank 300 in attracting Vietnamese customers.
