The Wuling Zhiguang EV packs a modest 40 horsepower and achieves a top speed of 100 km/h.

Wuling has revealed detailed specifications for its tiny electric vehicle, the Zhiguang EV. This EV resembles the Hongguang Mini EV sold in Vietnam but is larger in size. Specifically, the Wuling Zhiguang EV measures 3685 x 1530 x 1750 mm in length, width, and height, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2600 mm. Compared to the Mini EV, this model is 705 mm longer.

Positioned in the affordable segment, the Zhiguang offers basic features but boasts high customization. It comes with 20 standard M6 threaded holes, allowing for easy installation of popular add-ons such as storage compartments and racks.

Inside, the vehicle features a single LCD center console and physical controls for the air conditioning and audio system. The two-spoke steering wheel lacks buttons, but the car includes a shift knob, electric window buttons, and a handbrake.

The rear seats can be folded down to create a flat surface, providing ample space for an adult to sleep comfortably. The cargo area offers a generous 527 liters of space, expanding to 1,117 liters with the second row folded. Additionally, a roof rack is available for extra storage.

The Zhiguang EV is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing 40 horsepower, paired with a 17.6 kWh battery pack. It can reach a top speed of 100 km/h. The front slow-charging port supports external AC 220V charging up to a maximum of 3.3 KW. The vehicle is also equipped with fast DC charging up to 120W.

Wuling mentions that the car will eventually offer a battery-swapping feature through CATL’s Evogo network. This system uses small-sized batteries, each with a capacity of 26.5 kWh, enabling a range of approximately 200 km.

The Wuling Zhiguang EV will start reaching customers in China from early 2025. Its starting price is set at 50,000 Chinese yuan, which roughly converts to 174 million Vietnamese dong.
