Despite initial challenges, the SU7 electric vehicle model saw sales far exceeding Xiaomi’s own expectations.

Developed by one of China’s largest technology groups, the Xiaomi SU7 has quickly achieved success since its launch. Recently, the company announced that the number of SU7 deliveries has surpassed 130,000 units, just nine months after its debut. This figure even surpasses the company’s initial target of 100,000 units for the whole of 2024.

The Xiaomi SU7 is a mid-to-high-end electric vehicle that was launched in China on March 28, with a price range of 215,900 to 229,900 Chinese yuan (approximately $29,600 to $31,500). After its launch, the model became an instant hit, receiving 50,000 orders within 27 minutes. Despite some initial production hiccups, the SU7 continues to attract buyers in China, leading the company to consistently ramp up production to meet demand.

In the first month of sales alone, Xiaomi delivered 10,000 vehicles to customers. It then took the company just 198 days (up to November 13) to reach the 100,000-unit sales milestone. Finally, the automaker delivered an additional 30,000 vehicles in just 45 days, bringing the total number of deliveries to 130,000 units. According to China EV DataTracker, Xiaomi’s December sales figure stood at 16,328 units, an impressive achievement for a model that was introduced just in the first quarter of the year.

In 2025, Xiaomi SU7 sales are expected to gain further momentum as the company completes phase 2 of its factory. Additionally, Xiaomi plans to launch two more models next year, including the SU7 Ultra electric sports sedan and the Xiaomi YU7 electric SUV.
