With just a few days left in the year 2024, the best-selling car models in the Vietnamese automotive market are starting to emerge.

Here are the top 3 best-selling car models in Vietnam as of the current moment:

VinFast VF 5

Although VinFast does not regularly disclose sales figures for their car models, according to various statistical data, it can be predicted that the VinFast VF 5 has sold approximately 20,400 units in the past 11 months. This small electric car model is a strong contender for the title of Vietnam’s best-selling car in 2024.

VinFast VF 5 Plus is currently the only electric car model in the CUV/SUV A-segment. It competes with rivals such as the Kia Sonet, Toyota Raize, and Hyundai Venue.

The VF 5 Plus impresses with its compact, stylish design, agile urban maneuverability, and optimized operating costs that surpass those of gasoline-powered cars in the same segment.

The VinFast VF 5 Plus is powered by an electric motor with a maximum output of 100kW (approximately 134 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 135Nm. The standard battery pack has a capacity of 37.23kWh, offering a maximum range of around 300km.

The car is currently offered in one version, with a price of 468 million VND when renting the battery and 548 million VND when purchasing the battery outright.

Mitsubishi Xpander

The Mitsubishi Xpander is a strong contender for the title of Vietnam’s best-selling car in 2024, with cumulative sales of 17,509 units over the past 11 months.

If it maintains the good performance it achieved in November, with sales of 2,422 units, the Xpander is likely to reach a sales figure of nearly 20,000 units, matching its performance in 2023.

The Mitsubishi Xpander boasts a modern design and impressive features. It is equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen entertainment system, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. It also offers various conveniences such as leather seats, air conditioning with quick-cool Max Cool function, second-row charging ports, electronic parking brake, and auto hold.

Under the hood, the Mitsubishi Xpander is powered by a 1.5-liter engine that produces 104 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque, paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The Mitsubishi Xpander is available in Vietnam in four versions: MT, AT, AT Premium, and Xpander Cross, with prices ranging from 560 million to 698 million VND.

Ford Ranger

Following the Mitsubishi Xpander is the Ford Ranger, which has sold a cumulative total of 15,904 units in the past 11 months. In 2023, the Ranger was also among the top 4 best-selling car models in the market.

Currently, the Ranger still holds a dominant market share in the pickup truck segment in Vietnam. Local assembly has helped the Ranger gain better control over its supply. Additionally, the introduction of the new generation model has maintained its appeal and solidified its position in the market. It is also the only pickup truck model that frequently appears in the monthly top-selling car rankings.

The Ford Ranger boasts a masculine and rugged exterior design, true to its American pickup truck heritage.

There are three engine options available for the Ford Ranger in Vietnam. The XL, XLS, and XLT versions are equipped with a 2.0L Turbo diesel engine paired with a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission, delivering 170 horsepower at 3,500 rpm and 405 Nm of torque between 1,750-2,500 rpm.

The Wildtrak version features a 2.0L twin-turbo diesel engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, producing 210 horsepower at 3,500 rpm and 500 Nm of torque between 1,750-2,000 rpm.

The Raptor version is powered by a 3.0L V6 gasoline engine that generates 392 horsepower and 583 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a 4WD system.

The Ford Ranger is currently offered in Vietnam in 7 versions, with prices ranging from 669 million to 1.299 billion VND.
