The Xiaomi SU7 is a mid-to-high-range electric vehicle that was launched in China on March 28, priced at 215,900 – 229,900 CNY (29,600 – 31,500 USD). Following its launch, the car became an instant hit, receiving 50,000 orders within 27 minutes.

Despite some initial production hiccups, the SU7 has attracted a significant number of buyers in China. Xiaomi has ramped up production of the SU7 multiple times to meet demand. On December 28, the young automaker crossed the 130,000 delivery threshold.

Xiaomi SU7 Flies off the Shelves, Achieving Annual Sales Target

It took Xiaomi 275 days, or nine months, to achieve its adjusted annual delivery target. To recall, Xiaomi’s initial goal was to deliver 100,000 units by 2024. Sales of the SU7 accelerated after production increased to 20,000 units per month in June.

In the first month of sales, Xiaomi delivered 10,000 cars to customers. Subsequently, the company sold an additional 90,000 cars in 198 days (up to November 13). Finally, the automaker took 45 days to deliver another 30,000 cars, bringing the total deliveries to 130,000. Xiaomi’s December sales stood at 16,328 units, an impressive feat for a car launched in the first quarter of the year.

December 28 also marked the first anniversary of the SU7 EV’s official debut. Next year, Xiaomi will inaugurate its second-phase auto manufacturing plant, further boosting production capacity.

This will enable the automaker to strengthen its sales performance. Notably, Xiaomi plans to launch two more models in 2025. The first is the three-motor SUV, the SU7 Ultra. The second is the hybrid sedan, the Xiaomi YU7.

The Xiaomi SU7 is a sports sedan with dimensions of 4997/1963/1455 mm and a wheelbase of 3000 mm. It is slightly taller and longer than the Porsche Taycan.

The base SU7 employs a RWD setup, generating 220 kW (295 hp) of power, and is equipped with a 73.6 kWh LFP battery. The top-of-the-line SU7, on the other hand, offers a 4WD dual-motor setup, producing 495 kW (663 hp), and is powered by a 101 kWh three-component NMC battery. The car boasts a range of 700 – 830 km on a single charge.
