To make their Lexus GX 550 stand out, a car owner in Ho Chi Minh City decided to customize it with a camping-inspired style. The most notable modification is the replacement of the original 22-inch rims with 17-inch off-road rims, paired with 285/70 R17 tires. According to the owner, these rims were specially ordered from the US and took about a month to arrive in Vietnam, costing approximately 90 million VND.

The modification facility shared that this customized version is still a work in progress. In the upcoming stages, the car will be equipped with a roof rack with auxiliary lights priced at 30 million VND, a rooftop tent imported from the US for 60 million VND, and a rear glass protective cover for 15 million VND. These accessory prices exclude shipping costs to Vietnam.

From the accessories chosen, it is evident that the car owner enjoys off-road adventures and camping. The owner shared that they had a plan for the modifications and intend to use the customized Lexus GX550 for a cross-country trip after completion.

The Lexus GX 550 2024 marks the third generation of this model. It boasts a masculine and robust design, featuring the separate body-on-frame construction of a true SUV. The Lexus GX has overall dimensions of 4,960 x 1,980 x 1,865 mm (length x width x height), a wheelbase of 2,850 mm, and a ground clearance of 220 mm. Compared to its predecessor, it is 80 mm longer, 95 mm wider, and 50 mm taller.

In terms of performance, the Lexus GX 550 in Vietnam is powered by a 3.5L turbocharged V6 engine, delivering 349 horsepower and a maximum torque of 650 Nm. It is equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system. According to the Japanese automaker, the GX 550 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds and reach a top speed of 170 km/h.
