In 2025, GWM plans to expand its product range in Vietnam with the introduction of new models across various segments. One of these is the luxurious MPV, the GWM Wey 80.
According to information from dealership sales consultants, the GWM Wey 80 will arrive in Vietnam around the first quarter of 2025. With its luxurious and modern features, the Wey 80 will compete against the likes of the Toyota Alphard, VW Viloran, and GAC M8.
GWM has not yet confirmed the information about the Wey 80’s arrival in Vietnam. Currently, the Chinese automotive group only distributes one model in the country, the Haval H6. Meanwhile, the Haval Jolion has been brought to dealerships but has not yet officially launched.
The exterior design of the Wey 80 bears resemblance to the Toyota Alphard, featuring a prominent grille that spans the entire front of the vehicle. It also sports LED headlights and daytime running lights. The vehicle is equipped with sliding doors, making it more convenient for passengers in the back to enter and exit the vehicle.
The Wey 80 boasts a luxurious and modern 7-seat interior. The front dashboard features two large screens, and the top trim level is equipped with a 20-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. The second row features business-class seats with individual armrests, leg rests, and electric adjustments.
According to the dealership, the Wey 80 model to be sold in Vietnam will be powered by a PHEV engine. Referring to the Chinese market, this option delivers 480 horsepower and 762 Nm of torque, with all-wheel drive. In pure electric mode, the vehicle can travel up to 140km (CLTC standard) as claimed by the manufacturer.
