Hyundai Unveils the Creta EV for the Asian Market

In terms of design, the Hyundai Creta EV boasts an exterior that doesn’t stray far from its traditional gasoline-powered counterpart. There are, however, some subtle accents that make it easily distinguishable: a closed-off grille and a front-mounted charging port.

The Hyundai Creta EV is fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels, lending it a more robust and sporty appearance.

As for the interior, the Hyundai Creta EV’s cabin features a prominent 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with new graphics, a three-spoke steering wheel, and an upgraded audio system. Additionally, the vehicle can now be unlocked using a smartphone or smart watch.

While Hyundai has not yet disclosed detailed specifications about the Creta EV’s engine, it is likely to be equipped with a front-mounted electric motor. The vehicle is expected to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds, outperforming even the Creta N Line model powered by a gasoline engine.

The Creta EV offers two battery options: a 42 kWh or a 51.4 kWh battery, providing a range of 390 km and 473 km respectively, as per India’s ARAI standard.

It also supports fast DC charging, enabling a charge from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes. Additionally, it comes with a Smart Connected Wall Box 11kW charger that can charge the vehicle from 10% to 100% in 4 hours (AC Home Charging).

The Creta EV also boasts a V2L function, allowing users to power electronic devices via an electrical outlet located under the rear seats.

For now, Hyundai has introduced the Creta EV exclusively in the Indian market, and they have not announced any plans to launch it in other regions.
