On January 5, the Geely Group announced its total sales for 2024, an impressive 2,176,567 vehicles. This figure represents a remarkable over-32% year-on-year growth, surpassing the initial sales target of 2 million vehicles and setting a new annual sales record for the company.

December alone saw 210,055 vehicles sold, a 43%-plus increase compared to the previous year. This was the fourth consecutive month of sales exceeding 200,000 units. Notably, Geely’s NEV sales for December (including the Geely, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr brands) totaled 111,206 vehicles, reflecting a 93% surge year-on-year and accounting for 53% of Geely’s total December sales.

In China, NEV sales have surpassed 50% of total vehicle sales for the past five months. For the full year 2024, Geely’s NEV sales reached 888,235 units, a substantial 92% increase over the previous year. This figure far exceeded Geely’s initial annual target. With strong sales momentum and an array of products in development, Geely has set ambitious targets for 2025: 2.71 million in overall sales, with a NEV goal of 1.5 million. This means Geely anticipates that NEV sales will account for 55% of its total business.

The Geely Galaxy line posted total sales of 494,000 units in 2024, an approximately 80% increase over the previous year. The flagship Geely brand’s total sales for 2024 reached 1,669,003 vehicles, a healthy rise of over 27% year-on-year.

Zeekr, another standout performer, delivered 222,123 vehicles to customers in 2024, an 87% jump from the previous year. This brought Zeekr’s total customer deliveries close to 420,000 units. In terms of exports, Geely Automobile Group’s cumulative sales for 2024 reached 403,923 vehicles, an impressive increase of over 53% compared to the previous year.

Looking Ahead to 2025

Geely Galaxy, the company’s mass-market NEV brand, will launch five new models in 2025, including two SUVs and three sedans. Additionally, Geely will introduce two new models with next-generation ICE engines. The company has also merged its Radar pickup truck brand into Geely Auto Group, further streamlining operations.

At the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, Zeekr is expected to unveil a new hybrid platform. It is unclear if a new model will be launched simultaneously, but the brand has been testing this new hybrid platform throughout 2024 in the Zeekr 001.

Geely’s global expansion will continue in the new year, with a target of 15.6% growth in overseas markets for 2025. The company plans to establish manufacturing facilities in Indonesia, Vietnam, Central Asia, and Africa. By 2025, Geely aims to have a global network of 1,100 sales outlets.
