Vietnamese social media influencer, Huấn “Hoa Hồng,” recently drew attention by showcasing his new VinFast VF3 in yellow with a unique license plate: 51D-999.99, known as “quintuple 9.”
The coveted license plate, 51D-999.99, has been up for auction an impressive three times in 2024 alone. The first two attempts saw bids of 6.21 billion VND and 3.58 billion VND, respectively, but both winners defaulted on their payments.
In the third auction, held on November 12, 2024, the plate was finally sold for 4.13 billion VND. Interestingly, the plate was registered for trucks and pickups, which means it couldn’t be assigned to a VinFast VF3. Nonetheless, the fact that the license plate’s price tag was 18 times that of the VF3 car itself has sparked curiosity.
The VinFast VF3, an electric SUV, boasts a rear-mounted electric motor that delivers 43 horsepower and 110 Nm of torque, propelling the car from 0 to 50 km/h in just 5.3 seconds.
Equipped with a lithium-ion battery offering a usable capacity of 18.64 kWh, the VF3 provides a range of 210 km on a single charge, as per the NEDC standard. Charging is convenient, with a slow charge from 10% to 70% taking just 5 hours and a quick charge accomplishing the same in only 36 minutes.
Currently, the VinFast VF3 is priced at 235 million VND for the battery rental option and 315 million VND when purchased with a battery, excluding additional costs for color choices and official accessories.
