Kicking off the new year, news of a customer in Hanoi taking delivery of the McLaren Artura Spider just a month after its launch still has the local car enthusiasts buzzing. Now, a tycoon from Vung Tau has once again stirred the automotive community by bringing the second McLaren Artura Spider to Vietnam in 2025.
McLaren Artura was officially introduced to the Vietnamese market on December 5, 2024. McLaren has not yet announced the selling price of this supercar in Vietnam. It is known that the hardtop version is currently priced at 14.69 billion VND, excluding additional options and on-road costs.
The Artura Spider that arrived in Vung Tau sports a black exterior. The front of the car stands out with its large air intakes and distinctive headlight design. The sides feature air vents to cool the mid-mounted engine.
Artura Spider retains the aluminum and carbon fiber chassis of the Coupe version but improves stiffness while reducing weight by about 62 kg. As a result, the dry weight of the car is now approximately 1,475 kg. Overall, the exterior design of the McLaren Artura Spider remains largely unchanged from the hardtop version.
The rear, on the other hand, impresses with its diffuser featuring multiple airfoils, along with a centrally positioned dual-exhaust system and horizontal LED taillights on either side.
Due to the change in roof design, the Artura Spider has redesigned pillars that incorporate a polycarbonate-glazed panel to enhance rear visibility and direct airflow into the engine compartment.
The rear decklid can be raised or lowered via a button to improve comfort when closing the roof or to enhance the auditory experience of the V6 engine when the roof is up. The air intake vents for the engine have also been repositioned towards the back.
The Artura Spider’s roof can be retracted in just 11 seconds, three seconds faster than the Ferrari 296 GTB.
Customers can opt for various exterior and interior decorations such as carbon fiber or the dark-themed elements of the Stealth package.
The McLaren Artura Spider is powered by a hybrid powertrain that combines a 3.0L turbocharged V6 engine with an electric motor, delivering a total output of 700 horsepower and 720 Nm of peak torque. Compared to the previous Artura coupe, the Spider convertible offers 19 more horsepower while maintaining the same torque.
This hybrid system is paired with an 8-speed SSG transmission and an electronic differential, utilizing an electric motor for reverse gear. This setup enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds, with a top speed limited to 330 km/h. In pure electric mode, the car can travel up to 33 kilometers.
Artura Spider offers four driving modes: Electric, Comfort, Sport, and Track. Additionally, it is equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes and electronically controlled adaptive dampers with three settings: Comfort, Sport, and Track.
The owner of the vehicle remains undisclosed, but it is known that the car has been registered and is awaiting its license plate.
