Specifically, the main violations were: Failure to comply with traffic lights (running red lights) in 221 cases; driving on prohibited roads or in the wrong direction in 153 cases; speeding in 172 cases; parking violations in 592 cases; violations related to helmets in 1,853 cases; and alcohol-related violations in 1,207 cases…
Since the Decree 168 took effect, there has been a positive change in the traffic awareness and compliance of Hanoi residents. At major intersections, the previous chaos has been replaced by orderly lines of people waiting for the traffic signals in their respective lanes.
A representative from the Traffic Police Department stated: “In the coming time, along with strengthening violation handling, the traffic police will synchronously implement multiple solutions, not only to reduce traffic accidents but also to build a safe and civilized traffic environment.”
