With the removal of the manual transmission option, the Toyota Wigo is now only available in the G grade with a continuously variable automatic transmission (D-CVT) at a price of 405 million VND.

On the website of Toyota Vietnam, the manual transmission option for the Toyota Wigo has been discontinued. Currently, this model is only available in the Wigo G grade, which features a continuously variable automatic transmission (D-CVT) at a price of 405 million VND.

According to information from dealers, the company has not yet officially announced this decision. However, dealers also stated that the Wigo E grade has not been imported to Vietnam for a long time.

With the removal of the manual transmission option, the starting price of the Toyota Wigo has surpassed the 400 million VND mark, which is significantly higher than its Korean rivals, the Hyundai Grand i10 (360 – 455 million VND) and the Kia Morning (349 – 424 million VND). This could make it challenging for the Toyota Wigo to compete in the market, especially as the small sedan/hatchback segment has been losing popularity among customers compared to previous years.

The Toyota Wigo made its comeback in the Vietnamese market in June 2023 with two grades and a price range of 360 – 405 million VND. This re-entry featured significant upgrades in design, convenience equipment, and safety features. Some notable equipment includes LED headlights, electrically adjustable and foldable mirrors, 14-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch central touchscreen, and a four-speaker audio system. Notably, the Wigo also comes with rare safety features in its segment, such as Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA).

Under the hood, the Wigo is powered by a new 1.2L gasoline engine that delivers a maximum output of 87 horsepower and a peak torque of 113 Nm.
