As reported by Tri Thức – Znews, the Haval Jolion hybrid SUV has been spotted at Haval dealerships across the country. A sales consultant at the Great Wall Motors (GWM) dealership stated that they have started taking bookings for the Jolion and are preparing for its launch and test drive events in the last month of the year.

The Haval Jolion has dimensions of 4,472 mm in length, 1,841 mm in width, and 1,574 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. While its size is comparable to C-segment representatives in the market, the manufacturer positions it in the B+ segment.

Under the hood, the newcomer is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine, paired with an electric motor and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This powertrain combination delivers a maximum output of 186 horsepower and 375 Nm of torque. The front suspension is of the Macpherson type, while the rear suspension employs a torsion beam.

The official pricing for the SUV has also been confirmed, ranging from 736 to 779 million VND for the two Pro and Ultra versions. Customers who place orders during this period are eligible for a cash discount of 30 million VND. Delivery of the vehicles is expected in December.

Since the end of the first quarter, there have been leaks about Haval bringing the Jolion to Vietnam, but it wasn’t until the end of 2024 that this hybrid SUV truly made an appearance. The price surpassing the 700 million VND mark is also a surprise compared to earlier expectations.

This is likely to be a hurdle for the Jolion in attracting Vietnamese customers. With the B/B+ segment becoming increasingly crowded, the Jolion will face tough competition from segment rivals such as the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, and Mitsubishi Xforce.

Alternatively, if Haval aims for sales volume, they may resort to the strategy they employed with the H6: pricing it high and offering deep discounts.
