Vingroup and its ecosystem of companies launch the “For a Green Hanoi” campaign, urging the community to raise environmental awareness and join hands to reduce air pollution in the capital city.

As a pioneer, Vingroup announces a decisive and detailed action plan across its business areas, especially in urban transportation.

The launch ceremony was attended by leaders of the Hanoi People’s Committee, representatives of ministries, sectors, branches, and socio-political organizations, as well as businesses operating in the capital.

This initiative is urgent given Hanoi’s air quality, which is often ranked among the worst in the world, with fine dust levels posing a significant health risk to its residents. According to the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, transportation is identified as the largest source of emissions, accounting for 70% of urban pollution.

Vingroup launches the “For a Green Hanoi” campaign, urging the community to take action for a greener capital city.

As a responsible business operating in the capital and with a complete electric vehicle ecosystem, Vingroup decided to initiate the “For a Green Hanoi” campaign to encourage the community to take back the city’s blue sky and reduce emissions, especially from transportation.

Starting January 10, 2025, Vingroup and its green mobility ecosystem, including VinFast, VinBus, GSM, and FGF, will simultaneously implement various activities and supportive policies for customers purchasing, leasing, and using electric vehicles daily.

Specifically, VinFast will offer support of up to 70 million VND for all customers buying electric cars and registering them in Hanoi from January 10, 2025, to January 31, 2026. The support amount will vary depending on the model and the form of purchase with a battery or battery lease, ranging from 3.6 million VND (for VF 3 with a leased battery) to 70 million VND (for VF 9 with a purchased battery).

Dr. Hoang Duong Tung, Chairman of the Vietnam Clean Air Network

For customers buying electric motorcycles and bicycles, the support will range from 500,000 VND (for Evo200 with a leased battery) to 3,000,000 VND (for Theon S with a purchased battery).

The support amount from VinFast for the above vehicles will be converted into VinClub points, which customers can use for services at all Vingroup member units. The points will be provided after customers complete their vehicle registration process.

For those opting for public transportation in Hanoi, VinBus will offer a 50% discount on monthly single-route tickets for all passengers from February 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026.

The moment the “For a Green Hanoi” campaign was officially launched.

GSM will also introduce exclusive membership packages for Hanoi, with promotional codes valid for 365 days for both Xanh SM Taxi and Xanh SM Bike services with pick-up and drop-off points in the city.

Meanwhile, FGF will offer direct rental discounts and reward points for customers opting for short-term rentals and picking up vehicles in Hanoi from January 15, 2025, until further notice. Customers purchasing used vehicles through FGF will also receive similar support as per VinFast’s policies for each model.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, said, “Vingroup has taken a concrete step by offering attractive policies and incentives to encourage the use of electric vehicles instead of traditional fuel-based ones. This transition will not only significantly reduce emissions but also bring Hanoi closer to its goal of becoming a green and sustainable city.”

With this purpose and significance, the Vice Chairman called on the entire Hanoi community, from individuals and businesses to organizations and societies, to raise awareness and take action to protect our environment. Practical actions can include switching to electric vehicles or electrified public transportation, avoiding the use of coal stoves and open-air waste burning, and promoting afforestation and the protection of green spaces in our living areas.”

Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice Chairman and CEO of Vingroup

At the launch of the “For a Green Hanoi” program, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice Chairman and CEO of Vingroup, shared, “The effort to restore the capital’s clean air is not the responsibility of any single entity but a call from the heart that requires the unity and action of the entire community, including management agencies, businesses, social organizations, and individuals living, studying, and working in Hanoi. Vingroup believes that with determination and solidarity, the “For a Green Hanoi” campaign will succeed in bringing cleaner air and a safer living environment to Hanoi’s residents.”

The “For a Green Hanoi” campaign is a continuation of the “Vibrant Vietnamese Spirit – For a Green Future” program initiated by Vingroup on a national scale, offering superior benefits to users of green transportation.
