On November 26th, Geleximco officially announced the listing price of the Omoda C5, the first Chery model in Vietnam.

The urban SUV is considered the brand’s flagship model as it competes in the hottest market segment, the B-segment SUV.

At the event, the Omoda C5 was launched with a price of VND 589 million for the Premium version. The Flagship version is sold at VND 669 million.

With this pricing, Chery’s first SUV will be one of the most affordable Chinese representatives in the B-segment SUV market.

Currently, this segment is dominated by Korean and Japanese models such as the Mitsubishi Xforce (VND 599-705 million), Toyota Yaris Cross (VND 650-765 million), Hyundai Creta (VND 599-699 million), and Kia Seltos (VND 599-799 million).

In addition to these competitors, the Omoda C5 is expected to rival fellow Chinese models such as the BYD Dolphin (VND 659 million) and the newly launched Haval Jolion (VND 736-779 million). GAC Aion has also announced plans to introduce the Y Plus SUV in Vietnam, marking the beginning of their product lineup in the country.

The Omoda C5 boasts dimensions of 4,500 x 1,842 x 1,746 mm in length, width, and height, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,670 mm. All versions feature 18-inch alloy wheels, although there are variations in design.

Powering the Omoda C5 is a 1.5L turbocharged engine, delivering 154.2 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 230 Nm between 1,750 and 4,000 rpm.

Overall, with its competitive pricing, the C5 has the potential to make a mark in the B-segment SUV market. However, with numerous rivals in this crowded segment, the newcomer will need time to gain traction and achieve impressive sales figures.
