The new 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera S packs an extra 30 horsepower, more standard equipment, and is available in both Coupe and Cabriolet variants.
Since the introduction of the 992.2 mid-life upgrade in May 2024, Porsche has now reintroduced the Carrera S. As its name suggests, the 911 Carrera S is a more powerful version of the standard Carerra, positioned between the 911 Carrera and the 911 Carrera GTS T-Hybrid. The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera S uses the same 3.0L twin-turbocharged 6-cylinder engine but with increased horsepower and additional standard equipment.
However, a notable change is that the car is only offered with rear-wheel drive and an 8-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. Speaking of power, the 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera S boasts a significant increase in horsepower over its predecessor. The turbochargers have been upgraded and feature a charge-air cooling system. As a result, horsepower has been bumped up by 30, totaling 473 hp, and torque is rated at 530 Nm. This extra power enables the car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 308 km/h.
The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera S will feature a standard sports exhaust system with silver tailpipes. To rein in the extra power, this new model inherits the brake system from the 911 Carrera GTS, with 408 mm discs at the front and 380 mm at the rear. This sports car is fitted with standard 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels.
In terms of design, the Porsche 911 Carrera S has been refined with Matrix LED headlights and an optional HD-Matrix LED, air intakes, and more. The car’s dampers have been redesigned with optimized hydraulic systems and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+) traction control function.
Inside the cabin, the Porsche Carrera S 2025 offers a more luxurious interior, with more extensive use of leather on the seats, headrests, and upper dashboard as standard. The Cabriolet models come with rear seats, while Coupe buyers can opt to remove the rear seats to reduce weight. For those desiring even more personalization, Porsche’s Exclusive Manufaktur offers a full leather interior with up to 48 two-tone color combinations.
Additionally, owners can upgrade to Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) discs, a PASM suspension that lowers the car by 10 mm and includes rear-axle steering, and the Sport Chrono package with the Porsche Track Precision app for on-track use.
In the United States, the Porsche 911 Carrera S is priced at $146,400, and the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet starts at $159,600, excluding a $1,995 delivery fee. The cars will be delivered to US customers in the first quarter of 2025.
