The end of the year is an exciting time for car enthusiasts, with a slew of new models being unveiled one after the other. October has already seen the launch of much-anticipated vehicles such as the Toyota Camry HEV 2024, Honda Civic HEV 2024, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Subaru Crosstrek in the domestic market.
However, not all of these new models will make it into the hands of eager customers before the year’s end. Those who have pre-ordered the Hyundai Santa Fe, for instance, are unlikely to get their hands on the vehicle before December, according to Tri Thức – Znews. Dealership staff attribute this delay to limited stock, with almost all available units already spoken for.

At the moment, dealerships might offer a higher-end black model, but for other variants like the Caligraphy or premium gasoline model in white, customers will have to wait between 2 to 4 weeks, with no definite delivery date due to the long queue of pending orders.
To expedite delivery, dealership staff might suggest purchasing an add-on package worth VND 50-60 million, which includes window tinting, underbody coating, floor mats, and a dashcam. However, not all dealerships propose this option, and even with the add-on, customers still have to wait for at least 3 weeks for delivery.
This “extra charge” is significantly lower than what customers had to pay during the launch of the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe. Back then, customers had to shell out nearly VND 200 million to get their hands on the vehicle sooner.

A similar situation is playing out with the new Honda Civic 2024 hybrid model. According to sources, customers opting for gasoline variants can expect a wait time of about 2 weeks, depending on their color choice. However, those eyeing the e:HEV RS version might have to wait even longer due to limited stock. In-demand colors like white and red are currently unavailable, and customers will have to wait until the end of December.
Deliveries Stretched Beyond Lunar New Year
The new Toyota Camry sedan also falls into this category of delayed deliveries. In fact, according to dealership consultants, customers who have pre-ordered the hybrid variant might have to wait until mid-February next year to get behind the wheel.
This delay is attributed to a surge in pre-orders, with expected delivery dates for the Toyota Camry MID variant stretching into January or February 2025. For those who have ordered the fully-loaded model, the wait could extend until March.
Dealership staff affirm that this situation is consistent across dealerships, as the first batch of vehicles is still awaiting customs clearance. Even if customers are willing to pay extra, dealerships are unable to guarantee delivery before the end of December.

Not all new imported models are facing supply issues during the last quarter of the year, though. Newcomers like the Subaru Crosstrek, Omoda C5, and Haval Jolion have sufficient stock to meet demand, with deliveries possible before January 2025, albeit in limited quantities.
According to GMW dealership staff, customers who have ordered the Haval Jolion can expect delivery in early December, with a range of colors and variants available. The recently launched Omoda C5 is also ready for delivery from the end of November.
