In 2022, Vietnamese coffee kingpin Dang Le Nguyen Vu made waves online with his revelation of spending nearly VND 1,000 billion on car purchases.
As of early 2024, “King” Vu disclosed that his collection had grown to 700 cars, with an estimated value of nearly VND 3,000 billion.
The year 2024 also saw active buying and selling for the coffee tycoon, although the volume was not as high as in previous years. He acquired several rare and vintage cars.
At the beginning of 2024, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu attracted the attention of car enthusiasts by adding a white Mercedes-AMG GT R to his collection. The car caught the businessman’s eye during a visit to a friend’s showroom. After a brief inspection, Mr. Vu immediately decided to purchase the AMG GT R without hesitation. Only four Mercedes-AMG GT R supercars have been imported to Vietnam, three of which are now owned by Mr. Vu. He also possesses the limited-edition Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro.
Just days after buying the Mercedes-AMG GT R, the coffee magnate added another sports car to his collection: the Mercedes-AMG GT S. This car was officially imported to Vietnam in 2015 and had clocked over 13,000 km when it changed hands to the coffee king.
Additionally, in 2024, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu welcomed three more supercars to his garage: the Ferrari 812 GTS, Ferrari 812 Superfast, and Ferrari California T. It is estimated that his collection now boasts approximately 25 Ferraris, including rare models such as the 488 Pista Spider, 458 Speciale, and F430 Scuderia.
Towards the end of last year, the coffee tycoon spent nearly VND 18 billion on two convertible sports cars: the Morgan Plus Six and Morgan Plus Four.
In recent years, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu seems to have shifted his focus away from supercars. Instead, he has been acquiring unique and vintage cars, such as the Jaguar XJS, Datsun 280ZX, various versions of the Toyota Celica and Supra, Toyota Crown Custom 1971, Suzuki Samurai, Toyota AE86, Toyota Corolla, Chevrolet Corvette C3, Mazda MX-5 Miata NA, Mazda RX-7 FD, Datsun 1600 Roadster, Pontiac Firebird, and Toyota MR2.
