The Toyota Crown Sport is a crossover not offered in North America, and the Ferrari Purosangue seems to come from a whole different world. Still, their design similarities are hard to ignore. Aero Over, a Japanese tuning company, decided to have some fun with these resemblances.
By equipping the Crown Sport with a custom body kit, including 4 exhaust pipes, Ferrari-styled badging, and a set of new wheels, they’ve created an Italian SUV lookalike at a fraction of the cost.
Toyota Crown Sport Gets a Makeover in the Style of the Ferrari Purosangue
This Toyota Crown Sport was unveiled at the 2025 Tokyo Auto Show, strategically parked next to a genuine Ferrari Purosangue for a game of “spot the imposter.”
The modifications include a sharper front splitter and a redesigned rear diffuser, while the quad exhaust setup pays homage to the aggressive rear end of the V12-powered Purosangue.
The new diamond-cut wheels, combined with yellow brake calipers, add a further Ferrari-inspired touch, subtly complemented by the factory-fitted gloss black cladding around the wheel arches.
Aero Over has added a yellow emblem to the hood and matching shields to the front fenders, mimicking Ferrari’s iconic badge. Even the custom P639e and Aero Over lettering on the rear doors are styled in Ferrari’s unmistakable font.
To be fair, it’s worth pointing out that the Crown Sport technically predates the Purosangue. Toyota revealed the near-production prototype of the Crown Sport in July 2022, while Ferrari didn’t officially launch its first-ever SUV until September of the same year.
Leaked images of the Purosangue from the factory, circulating online as early as January 2022, could have inspired Japanese designers to create this intriguing Toyota Crown Sport.
In terms of styling, the Crown Sport embraces Toyota’s “hammerhead” design, a signature feature of the brand’s modern lineup seen on models like the latest Prius. In contrast, the Purosangue takes a more eccentric approach, with a front end reminiscent of the sleek, aggressive nose of Ferrari’s SF90 supercar.
For those dreaming of a supercar experience without the Ferrari price tag, Aero Over’s upgrade parts are now available for purchase in Japan. The front splitter and rear diffuser cost 250,000 Yen ($1,600), plus an additional 250,000 Yen ($1,300) for the custom exhaust muffler.
The Ferrari-style emblems are a bargain at 8,500 Yen ($54) for the hood and fenders. Even the rear door stickers are only 2,000 Yen ($12). The base Toyota Crown Sport itself starts at 5,900,000 Yen (approximately $37,500) in Japan, a steal compared to the Purosangue, which easily surpasses the $500,000 mark.
