A video of a YangWang U9 driver performing a bizarre ‘dance’ routine in the middle of a road has recently gone viral on social media. The driver’s antics caused obstruction to traffic flow and only ceased when the police intervened.

This is not the first time a YangWang owner has created a stir on social media. Previously, a YangWang U8 SUV owner tested the vehicle’s water-wading capability by driving through a river with the windows down.

YangWang has repeatedly issued warnings to its customers, advising them to use such features appropriately and only in emergency situations to prevent damage to the vehicle and ensure their safety.

YangWang is a subsidiary brand of BYD. In February 2024, they launched the YangWang U9, an electric supercar priced at approximately 1.68 million NDT (equivalent to 5.8 billion VND).

The YangWang U9 boasts an impressive combined output of 1,287 horsepower from its four electric motors, each producing 322 horsepower.

According to BYD, the YangWang U9 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2 seconds and reach a top speed of 300 km/h. The company also claims that the car can travel up to 700 kilometers on a single charge, thanks to its 100 kWh battery pack, as tested in the Chinese testing cycle.

In addition to its powerful engine, the YangWang U9 also stands out due to its advanced technologies, showcasing the progress of the Chinese automotive industry. Equipped with a special suspension system, this all-electric supercar can ‘jump’ and lift all four wheels off the ground, even capable of driving with only three wheels intact.

Furthermore, the U9 features the “Disus-X” suspension system, which includes the Disus-C (intelligent vehicle body control system using shock absorbers), Disus-P (intelligent vehicle body control system using hydraulics), and Disus-A (intelligent vehicle body control system using air suspension), providing control over longitudinal, lateral, and vertical movement. While this feature may rarely be used, it could be invaluable in the event of a wheel or tire issue.
