Kicking off 2025, GWM is expected to introduce the Wey 80 MPV to Vietnamese consumers.
According to speculations, the Wey 80 may be launched in Vietnam by the end of the first quarter of 2025, alongside two other models: the GWM Tank 300 and the Haval Jolion.
The Wey 80 is anticipated to be priced at 2.5 billion VND. If this price is accurate, the vehicle will struggle to compete with rivals in the same segment, such as the Kia Carnival (priced between 1.299 and 1.849 billion VND), Volkswagen Viloran (priced from 1.989 to 2.188 billion VND), and GAC M8 (priced from 1.699 to 2.199 billion VND).
The exterior design of the Wey 80 bears resemblance to the Toyota Alphard, featuring a prominent grille that spans the entire front end. It is equipped with LED headlights and daytime running lights. Sliding doors on both sides enhance convenience for passengers entering and exiting the vehicle.
The Wey 80 boasts a luxurious and modern 7-seat interior. The front dashboard incorporates two large screens, and the top-tier configuration features a 20-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. The second row is furnished with business-class seats, complete with individual armrests and leg rests, all electrically adjustable.
The GWM Wey 80 is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain, combining a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine with two electric motors located on the front and rear axles, delivering a combined output of 480 horsepower and 762 Nm of torque. The lithium ternary battery has a capacity of 37.96 kWh, enabling a maximum pure electric range of 140 km.
