While the 3-month promotional period for registration fee discounts has ended, Vietnamese customers can still enjoy similar benefits thanks to the policies of car brands. As a result, the prices of many car models have dropped significantly, ranging from tens of millions to hundreds of millions of VND.
Subaru Extends Discounts on Forester
In December, Subaru continues to offer promotions for the Forester with a maximum discount value of 230 million VND.
The 2.0 i-S EyeSight version receives the highest discount of 230 million VND, reducing the price from 1.199 billion VND to 969 million VND.
The 2.0 i-L EyeSight version is offered a discount of 170 million VND, bringing the price down to 929 million VND.
The 2.0 i-L version has the lowest discount among the three versions of this compact SUV. Currently, the price of the Subaru Forester 2.0 i-L is 869 million VND, a discount of 100 million VND from the listed price.
The Subaru Forester is in its final phase of being imported from Thailand. From next year onwards, this compact SUV will be imported from Japan, similar to other models of the same brand.
This change in origin may lead to a significant increase in the price of the Subaru Forester.
Recently, Subaru introduced the Crosstrek to the Vietnamese market, imported from Japan with a price range of 1.098-1.268 billion VND. This B/B+ sized SUV is one of the most expensive options in Vietnam.
Toyota Reduces Registration Fees
In December, Toyota announced promotions in the form of supporting up to 100% of the registration fee for many models, including both domestically assembled and imported cars.
The highest discount of 100% of the registration fee applies to the Toyota Veloz Cross and Toyota Avanza Premio, two small MPVs that were previously imported from Indonesia but are now domestically assembled.
Currently, the Veloz Cross is priced at 638-660 million VND, while the Avanza Premio ranges from 558-598 million VND. Therefore, the highest discount of 66 million VND applies to the Toyota Veloz Cross, and customers buying the Avanza Premio will receive a maximum discount of 60 million VND.
Toyota’s best-selling model, the Vios, also receives a 50% discount on the registration fee, equivalent to a value of 23-27 million VND. The Toyota Vios is poised to reclaim its title as the best-selling compact sedan after witnessing its rival, the Hyundai Accent, take the top spot last year.
Two imported urban SUVs, the Toyota Yaris Cross and the Toyota Corolla Cross, also benefit from a 50% discount on the registration fee.
With a price range of 650-765 million VND, the discount value for the Yaris Cross will range from 32.5 million to 38.3 million VND for the two versions. Toyota has been offering this promotion for several months, hoping to boost the competitiveness of the Toyota Yaris Cross in the sales race with the Mitsubishi Xforce.
For the Toyota Corolla Cross, the promotion of a 50% discount on the registration fee only applies to the pure gasoline version. With a price of 820 million VND, Vietnamese customers buying the Toyota Corolla Cross 1.8V receive a discount of 41 million VND.
