In a recent social media post, Vietnamese entrepreneur Pham Tran Nhat Minh, commonly known as Minh “Nhua,” shared his visit to McLaren’s headquarters in the UK, following his trip a few years ago to take delivery of the McLaren Elva supercar.

Although Minh “Nhua” purchased the McLaren Elva over two years ago, the car is believed to have not yet passed the registration inspection to obtain a license plate. Therefore, many people speculate that his return to McLaren is to ensure the car meets the necessary requirements to hit the roads soon.

The shared photos include a shot of Minh “Nhua” posing with a lineup of McLaren supercars, with the highlight being the presence of the iconic McLaren F1. This rare model was limited to only 106 units, and its resale value now exceeds $10 million to $20 million.

It is known that since registering the Pagani Huayra, the purchase of the Elva marks Minh “Nhua”‘s return to the supercar game, and this time, it’s a whole new level. The Elva is extremely expensive, produced in limited quantities, and is the first supercar in Vietnam to feature a design without a roof or windows.

Initially, the McLaren Elva did not even have a windshield, but the British automaker accommodated the requirements of various countries that mandate the presence of this feature for road legality. Notably, Minh “Nhua”‘s million-dollar McLaren Elva is further accentuated by the artwork of a well-known Vietnamese artist.

Only 149 units of the McLaren Elva were produced worldwide, and at least three of them have made their way to Southeast Asia, all in the “4-zero” specification, meaning they forgo the windshield. One of these owners is said to be Tunku Idris Iskandar Ismail, the Prince of Johor, Malaysia, or a reclusive billionaire in Cambodia. Additionally, there are over five McLaren Elva units with windshields that have been officially distributed within the ASEAN region, including Minh “Nhua”‘s car.

Aside from its striking design, the McLaren Elva supercar is powered by the same V8, twin-turbo, 4.0-liter engine found in other McLaren models such as the 720S, 720S Spider, and the hypercar Senna owned by Hoang Kim Khanh.

This engine produces a maximum output of 804 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, delivered to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Thanks to this potent drivetrain, the McLaren Elva, dubbed the “4-zero” supercar, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than three seconds.
