The all-electric era of Cadillac is entering a new phase as the company introduces its first all-electric V-Series. We’re talking about the 2026 Lyriq-V, and it’s the fastest long-distance Cadillac ever created.
2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V Quick Review: The Fastest Caddy Ever
Powertrain
Diving straight into the numbers, this high-performance crossover is equipped with a 102 kWh lithium-ion battery pack powering an all-wheel-drive system with dual motors, producing an estimated 615 horsepower and a peak torque of 650 lb-ft (880 Nm). These figures are carried over from the three-row Vistiq, but the Lyriq-V is 346 lbs (156.9 kg) lighter, tipping the scales at 5,980 lbs (2,713 kg).
This enables the 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V to sprint from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in approximately 3.3 seconds in Velocity Max mode. This makes it the quickest Cadillac ever, edging out the CT5-V Blackwing by 1/10th of a second.
Unfortunately, performance comes at the cost of range, as the estimated range stands at 285 miles (459 km). This is significantly less than the other four-wheel-drive Lyriq variants, which offer EPA-estimated ranges of 303 and 319 miles (488 and 513 km).
When the battery gets low, a DC fast charger can provide up to 75 miles (121 km) of range in just 10 minutes. At home, the 7.7 kW AC charger delivers up to 19 miles (31 km) of range per hour, while the 11.5 kW charger increases that to 27 miles (43 km) per hour. The available 19.2 kW charger is even better, offering up to 44 miles (71 km) of range per hour.
The performance upgrades go beyond the powertrain, as engineers have installed a quicker steering ratio and a lowered multi-link suspension system with continuous damping control.
The performance features don’t stop there, as the vehicle also boasts Launch Control and a customizable V-Mode. These are complemented by Competitive Mode, which enables “a suite of traction management features designed specifically to enhance the vehicle’s agility.”
When it’s time to slow down, the Brembo front brakes come into play. They measure 15.35 inches (390 mm), nearly 2.8 inches (71 mm) larger than the brake discs on the standard model. In addition to the more potent braking system, the Lyriq-V offers red brake calipers with V-Series branding.
An integral part of the V-Series’ appeal is the sound it produces. For the Lyriq-V, Cadillac has crafted a “unique, multi-layered acoustic experience” that can be heard both inside and outside the vehicle.
During the press briefing, officials mentioned that some elements were borrowed from their LMDh race car and noted that the sound could “move around” the cabin using speakers in various locations. It will be intriguing to hear what Cadillac has come up with, but if it doesn’t appeal to you, you can always turn it off.
A Little More Aggressive Design
The styling changes are relatively subtle, but the Lyriq-V stands out with a unique front end and revised air intakes featuring mesh inserts. These are paired with sportier side skirts and additional body-color trim.
The designers have also equipped the vehicle with a distinctive chin spoiler, as well as V-Series badging on the rear doors and liftgate. Customers can further enhance their ride with carbon fiber accents and the exclusive Magnus Metal Frost paint option.
This crossover rides on 22-inch dark-finish wheels featuring V-Series-engraved logos. They are wrapped in summer-only performance tires, but all-season tires are also available.
Luxurious Interior with Sporty Accents
The interior of the Lyriq is already impressive, but the performance variant takes it up a notch. The driver is greeted by a unique steering wheel with V-Series badging, along with aluminum Regen On Demand paddles. These are complemented by exclusive front seats and upholstery.
The 33-inch display is a standout feature and boasts a ‘V-ified’ infotainment experience. Buyers will also find open-pore wood trim and illuminated V-Series sill plates.
This model will also be the first Cadillac to feature a dual-plane augmented reality head-up display. Rounding off the highlights are a fixed panoramic glass roof, Super Cruise, and a 23-speaker AKG audio system.
Pricing
The 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V will be produced in Spring Hill, Tennessee, with manufacturing set to begin in the first quarter of this year.
The starting price is $79,990, including destination fees, which seems like a bargain considering the four-wheel-drive Lyriq starts at $64,115. This model is also significantly more affordable than the Tesla Model X Plaid, which starts at $94,990 but offers superior range and performance.
