The current fifth-generation Toyota RAV4 has been on the market since 2018, and it’s now due for an upgrade. There are speculations that the new model could be launched as early as late 2025.
Recently, social media in China was abuzz with images purported to be the new Toyota RAV4. The photo, taken at a dealer conference in China discussing the products of the GAC Toyota joint venture, sparked discussions. Many believed it to be the SUV Wildlander, a variant of the RAV4 exclusive to the Chinese market. However, the vehicle’s exterior bore a striking resemblance to the Toyota RAV4 2025 prototype previously spotted undergoing road tests in Europe.
Despite being heavily camouflaged, the test vehicle featured mirrors, door handles, and square wheel arches identical to those on the Wildlander, as revealed at the conference.
The leaked Wildlander images offer a clearer picture of what to expect from the RAV4 2025. Specifically, the vehicle sports a grille similar to the Lexus RX, paired with sleek LED headlights in a distinctive C-shape.
While there’s no information about the interior, it’s likely to feature a modern dual-screen setup akin to other recent Toyota models.
The Toyota RAV4 2025 will continue to be developed on the existing TNGA-K platform. It is expected to offer hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains with extended pure electric range, maximizing fuel efficiency.
