At the 2024 end-of-year diplomatic event, the Chief Trade Representative of Russia in Vietnam announced the launch plan for a range of models from the AvtoVAZ Automobile Group in the Vietnamese market.

So far, many speculations suggest that a batch of Lada cars belonging to AvtoVAZ is being prepared for shipment from Russia to Vietnam.

This information was shared by a Russian national living in Vietnam in a Russian automotive community group. The person, who claimed to be a manager, revealed that AvtoVAZ is in the process of negotiating to open showrooms in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in the near future.

According to this individual, the batch of cars being shipped to Vietnam includes four models: Lada Niva, Lada Niva Travel, Lada Vesta, and Lada Granta. The vehicles are expected to arrive in Vietnam around March, undergoing inspection and certification processes. If all goes well, these Russian cars could be launched as early as May 2025.

The Lada Granta is expected to start at just VND 360 million, with the Lada Niva estimated at around VND 390 million.

Currently, Lada has not confirmed any information about this batch of vehicles.

Lada Granta is the smallest sedan in this batch. It is positioned in the same segment as the Hyundai Grand i10 or Mitsubishi Attrage.

The Lada Vesta is a larger sedan but remains in the same category as the Granta. However, it boasts a more modern design and superior equipment.

Lada Niva is a 2-door SUV similar to the Suzuki Jimny. This model also targets off-road capabilities like its counterpart.

The Lada Niva Travel is positioned as the most premium A-size SUV among the four models being launched. Its size is comparable to that of the Toyota Raize or Kia Sonet.
