The 2024 SEMA show showcased a stunning Toyota Land Cruiser Prado-based pickup truck conversion.
This vehicle is named the Land Cruiser ROX. Toyota stated that if they receive positive feedback from the public, they will consider putting this car into actual production.
ROX stands for Recreation Open eXperience. This off-road-style model gives users a sense of closeness to nature.
The car has had its C, D, and roof pillars removed. A special frame was fabricated to compensate for the lost rigidity, providing a sturdy structure for this concept car.
Toyota also modified the suspension, lifting the vehicle’s ride height by 101 mm and widening the track by over 200 mm using forged aluminum control arms at both the front and rear.
The Toyota Land Cruiser ROX Concept is also equipped with several off-road support accessories, including striking red steel front and rear bumpers with tow hooks, an underguard, and a front bumper guard.
A 3-bar roof rack and seven auxiliary lights at the front of the roof help the driver see better in low-light conditions. The rear door features a new spare tire carrier, making it easier for users to access the cargo area.
The wheel arches have been extended to accommodate the larger 18-inch off-road wheels and tires, giving them a more aggressive look.
As for the interior, the Land Cruiser ROX’s cabin features 3D-printed scuff plates on the front and rear door sills, along with durable materials suitable for a convertible. The door panels are equipped with safety kits and compartments for sunglasses and other accessories.
It also features a panoramic sunroof and a soft-top fabric roof that can be folded back, providing drivers with a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience.
If put into mass production, the Land Cruiser ROX would be a formidable competitor to the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco.
