According to Zing‘s investigation, the Honda Air Blade 160 is one of the most difficult scooters to acquire in the Vietnamese market at the moment.

Previously, numerous Honda motorcycle dealerships in Ho Chi Minh City reported running out of Air Blade 160 inventory after the Lunar New Year holiday. At these dealerships, customers could only opt for the Honda Air Blade 125, priced at VND 44.39-45.29 million.

“Currently, the Honda Air Blade 160 is out of stock, and it is uncertain when the next batch will arrive at the dealership,” shared a Honda dealership employee.

Zing discovered that some dealerships still offering the Honda Air Blade 160 are selling the scooter at a premium, nearly VND 10 million higher than the manufacturer’s suggested retail price.

Specifically, the Standard version is being offered at VND 61-63 million, while the Special version is priced at VND 64-66 million. In contrast, the official website of Honda Vietnam lists the 160 cc engine variants of the Honda Air Blade with prices ranging from VND 55.99-57.19 million, depending on the version.

Flashback to mid-2022, the price of the Honda Air Blade 160 surpassed the VND 70 million mark for both the Standard and Special versions, just about ten days after its official launch in Vietnam.

When Zing inquired about the reasons behind the shortage and price increase, a salesperson shared their perspective: “Currently, Honda dealerships are focusing on boosting sales of the Vario 160, hence the limited availability of the Air Blade 160,” they explained.

However, it is important to note that this is solely the opinion of the salesperson and is provided for reference only.

Within the range of scooters officially distributed in Vietnam, the Honda Air Blade, along with the SH and Vario models, are equipped with a 156.9 cc engine.

In contrast to the situation with the Honda Air Blade 160, the Honda Vario 160 variants are currently priced lower at dealerships than the manufacturer’s suggested retail price from Honda Vietnam.

Specifically, the Standard version is priced at VND 49.19 million, a discount of VND 2.5 million from the suggested price. The Premium, Special, and Sports versions are priced at VND 49.19 million, VND 54.29 million, and VND 55.79 million, respectively, with differences ranging from VND 400,000 to VND 3 million compared to the official prices.
