Mitsubishi Xforce Introduces Hybrid Engine Option to Rival Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid
According to Thai media, the Mitsubishi Xforce hybrid version is set to be launched in March with an estimated price of 700,000 Thai Baht (approximately 520 million VND). This is the first upgrade for this B-size CUV since its debut in Indonesia in August 2023.
Named the Xforce HEV e:Motion, this version will be equipped with a hybrid system borrowed from the Xpander line. Specifically, the system comprises a 1.6L MIVEC gasoline engine producing 95 horsepower and 134 Nm of maximum torque, combined with an electric motor that delivers 116 horsepower, paired with a 1.1 kWh lithium-ion battery.
Thai media reports that Mitsubishi dealers in the country have confirmed that the starting price of the Xforce hybrid is expected to be around 700,000 baht (approximately 523 million VND). This price is lower than its rival, the Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid, which starts at 789,000 baht (approximately 586 million VND).
In addition to the new engine, the Xforce hybrid will also feature some design differences compared to the gasoline-powered version. Specifically, based on the test model spotted in Thailand in mid-January, the new version will have 18-inch alloy wheels with an aerodynamic design, contributing to optimized fuel efficiency.
Currently, the Mitsubishi Xforce is available in three Southeast Asian countries: Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. In Vietnam, the vehicle is offered in four versions, all powered by the 1.5 MIVEC engine with 104 horsepower, priced from 599 million to 705 million VND.\
