Just days after releasing a teaser, Honda Malaysia officially unveiled the 2023 Vario 125 scooter. Similar to its release in Indonesia, the Vario 125 in Malaysia retains the old design and has not undergone the same style revamp as its bigger sibling, the Vario 160.

In Malaysia, the Vario 125 is available in three colors: yellow, green, and red. It is priced at 7,080 Malaysian ringgit, which is approximately $1,580. Despite being discontinued, the Vario 150 still shares many features with the Vario 125, including the frame, wheel design, smart key system, and USB charging port. Standard equipment on this scooter includes full LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and a spacious 18-liter under-seat storage compartment.

The Honda Vario 125 features 14-inch wheels with 90/80 tires at the front and 100/80 tires at the rear. The suspension setup comprises a telescopic fork at the front and a single-sided shock absorber at the rear. Unfortunately, the Vario 125 does not come with ABS brakes, but it does offer a combined braking system (CBS).

Powering the Vario 125 is a single-cylinder, SOHC, liquid-cooled 124.9 cc engine that delivers 11.5 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 11.74 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm.

Following its launch in Malaysia, Vietnam is expected to be the next Southeast Asian market to introduce the Vario 125. During the launch event of the Vario 160, a representative from Honda Vietnam confirmed that the Vario 125 would be locally assembled and launched in the country later in 2023.
