The first 2025 Corvette ZR1 sold at auction for an impressive $3.7 million, despite an MSRP of just $175,000 for this model.

Introduced in July 2024, the 2025 Corvette ZR1 is Chevrolet’s most powerful offering to date. Its performance surpasses that of renowned supercars from Ferrari, Pagani, and Lamborghini. Despite its impressive capabilities, the Corvette ZR1 is relatively affordable, with a starting price of $175,000.

Recently, the first Corvette ZR1 with VIN 001 was auctioned off in Scottsdale, Arizona. It took just a few minutes for the bidding to reach a staggering $3.7 million, with the final bid coming from 73-year-old businessman and owner of Hendrick Motorsports NASCAR, Rick Hendrick.

A devoted Corvette enthusiast, Hendrick has spent tens of millions of dollars acquiring the first models, including the 2020 Corvette Stingray ($3.3 million), Corvette Z06 ($3.6 million), Corvette Z06 Convertible ($1 million), and the Corvette E-Ray ($1.1 million).

All proceeds from the auction of this Corvette ZR1 will go directly to the American Red Cross to aid areas affected by Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene, as well as other recent disasters, including wildfires. Chevy has raised $12.9 million for charity through auctions of C8 Corvettes over the past few years.

The Corvette ZR1 boasts a design reminiscent of high-performance sports cars, complemented by carbon fiber elements that reduce weight. The coupe version weighs 3,670 pounds, while the convertible comes in at 3,755 pounds, comparable to sedans in the C/D segment.

Under the hood, the 2025 Corvette ZR1 is equipped with a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers an astonishing 1,064 horsepower and 1,121 lb-ft of torque.
