According to Carscoops, BMW has revealed a list of models that will receive updates this year. The upgrades include improved battery capacity for electric vehicles, new engines for petrol cars, and additional equipment.

Starting with the i5, BMW states that this electric vehicle will benefit from “several technical advancements that reduce energy consumption”. Upgrades include optimized wheel hub motors, reduced rolling resistance tires, and the use of silicon carbide semiconductor components. These changes result in a range increase of up to 47 km for the new BMW i5. Additionally, the i5 M60 xDrive version will be equipped with the M Sport Pro package.

The BMW 5-Series now comes with enhanced standard equipment, including a Harman Kardon sound system, interior ambient lighting, and a multi-task touch bar.

The BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe will introduce two new variants, expected to launch simultaneously in April 2025. The 216 Gran Coupe features a three-cylinder 1.5-liter engine that produces 121 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. This setup enables the German sedan to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.9 seconds.

On the other hand, the 223 xDrive Gran Coupe is equipped with a hybrid powertrain that delivers a combined output of 215 horsepower and can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 6.4 seconds.

Scheduled for a May launch, the BMW X3 40d xDrive will be powered by a 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine combined with an electric motor, generating a total output of 299 horsepower and 670 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 245 km/h.

BMW is also improving the charging speed of its upcoming electric vehicles. The flagship SUV XM and the PHEV variants of the X1, 2-Series Active Tourer, and 7-Series will feature an increased standard charging capacity of 11 kW, up from 7.4 kW. This will significantly reduce charging times compared to their predecessors.

Additionally, several BMW models will receive equipment upgrades. The X1 and 2-Series Active Tourer will be fitted with new wheel designs, while the X5 and X6 will feature adaptive matrix LED headlights. The X7 gains automatic parking capabilities, and the M5 offers a new optional leather upholstery with black gloss accents and a 3D effect.
