The extremely rare Porsche 918 Spyder made a surprise appearance on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City during the 2025 Tet holiday. This is a rare sighting of the supercar driving on public roads since its arrival in the country, with the last known appearance being about two years ago.

This Porsche 918 Spyder was brought into the country in March 2022 and is owned by a prominent figure in the consumer goods industry.

The car sports a sleek gray exterior, complemented by dual-tone multi-spoke wheels and eye-catching banana yellow brake calipers. The carbon fiber roof can be easily removed by hand, and when open, the two-piece hardtop is stored in the front trunk.

The Porsche 918 Spyder is a limited-edition model, with only 918 units produced. The Stuttgart-based manufacturer stopped taking orders in December 2014 and concluded production in June 2015.

The Porsche 918 Spyder is an extraordinary vehicle, being the first in the Porsche family to feature a hybrid powertrain. It combines a 4.6-liter naturally aspirated engine with two electric motors, delivering a total output of 886 horsepower and 1,245 Nm of torque. This supercar can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 345 km/h.

The exact cost of importing this Porsche 918 Spyder into the country is unknown. However, when it was first released, the starting price was approximately 845,000 USD, equivalent to 19.8 billion VND.
