## YouTuber LĂȘ Gia Huy Shares His High-Speed Journey from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Rang on His Motorcycle

In the video uploaded on March 14th, popular Vietnamese YouTuber, LĂȘ Gia Huy, documented his high-speed journey from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Rang on his motorcycle. The video quickly gained traction, racking up over 60,000 views in just two days.

Speeding and Faulty Speedometer Claims

One notable aspect of the video is that Huy was consistently traveling at speeds exceeding 100 km/h, significantly above the legal speed limit for motorcycles in Vietnam, which is set at 70 km/h. When contacted, Huy claimed that his speedometer was faulty and that he was, in fact, adhering to the speed limit. “My speedometer is faulty. I was actually within the speed limit,” he asserted to *Zing*.

The video depicts Huy’s Aprilia RSV4 Factory 1100, valued at nearly 900 million VND, speeding along the highway, frequently overtaking other vehicles. This powerful motorcycle is equipped with a 1,099 cc engine, capable of producing an impressive 217 horsepower at 13,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 125 Nm at 10,500 rpm.

Huy and his companion embarked on their journey along National Highway 1A, starting from Ho Chi Minh City and heading towards Binh Thuan Province. From the outset, the pair were clocked at 90 km/h on Hanoi Highway, where the speed limit for motorcycles is 60 km/h.

Dangerous Speeds and Community Impact

As they entered Binh Thuan Province, the duo consistently maintained high speeds, even on sections of the road without a central divider. On stretches with concrete dividers, their speeds soared to over 100 km/h, with a top speed of 150 km/h. This reckless behavior not only violated traffic laws but also posed a significant safety hazard to themselves and other road users.

Huy’s video, which is over 17 minutes long, garnered tens of thousands of interactions and hundreds of comments. While most comments praised the YouTuber, some viewers also expressed concern about his excessive speeding. One comment from *MOTO360* advised, “You should blur the speedometer to avoid a fine and to prevent encouraging young viewers, as you are technically breaking the law.”

The surge in popularity of high-performance motorcycles in Vietnam in recent years, coupled with the ease of obtaining an A2 license, has led to an increase in speeding incidents. Many owners of these powerful motorcycles are tempted to test their vehicles’ speed limits, often choosing public roads as their racetracks, which is illegal and dangerous.

Huy, who has over 560,000 subscribers on YouTube, has a responsibility to his followers and the larger motorcycling community to promote safe and legal riding practices. His video, which glorifies speeding and brushes off the incident as a technical issue, sets a dangerous precedent for his impressionable audience.

According to Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, the penalty for driving a motorcycle over the speed limit by more than 20 km/h is a fine of 4-5 million VND and a suspension of the driver’s license for 2-4 months. If two or more people are driving in a group and speeding, the fine increases to 6-8 million VND, along with a 2-4-month license suspension.
