A supercar dealer has just advertised a Toyota 86, an upgraded version of the first generation model, on social media. The car quickly found a new owner.

Toyota 86 is an extremely rare car in the Vietnamese market, and as such, the post quickly garnered a lot of attention. Notably, just about 20 minutes after it was advertised, the Toyota 86 had found its new owner.

The person who sealed the deal for this car was businessman Nguyễn Quốc Cường, well-known for his collection of supercars and luxury vehicles. Besides owning a garage of enviable cars, the way this tycoon buys cars is also impressive, as he closed the deal swiftly with just a few comments on social media.

Toyota 86 made its debut at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, based on the 2007 FT-HS concept. The design of this sports car was inspired by the legendary 2000GT.

The car is equipped with sports seats upholstered in a combination of cloth and synthetic leather. The dashboard is trimmed in Alcantara with an embossed 86 logo. The odometer reading shows that the car has only traveled 680 miles (approximately 1,094 km) – a very low number for a car that is over a decade old.

At the heart of the Toyota 86 is a Subaru-shared 2.0L naturally aspirated 4-cylinder boxer engine, producing between 200 and 207 horsepower depending on the version. This engine is paired with a rear-wheel drive system and a 6-speed manual transmission, the Toyota TL70.

The price of the car was not disclosed, but given its near-mint condition, the figure would not be cheap. In Vietnam, the Toyota 86 was officially distributed with a price of around 1.7 billion VND. However, its impractical design and high price made it less appealing to customers.
