Local residents captured a Ford Mustang, carrying a newlywed couple to their wedding venue, veering off the road and crashing into a median in Cẩm Phả, Quảng Ninh Province, around 3 pm on December 26.

The accident left the front of the car deformed, resulting in a leaking radiator and coolant spill underneath the hood. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The ill-fated vehicle, a Ford Mustang 2.3L Ecoboost, is one of the best-selling sports coupes globally during the 2013-2023 period. According to S&P Global Mobility’s analysis, the Mustang is Ford’s most popular sports car, accounting for over 78% of the brand’s global sales.

In Vietnam, the Ford Mustang is also a favored choice for wedding cars due to its sporty, muscular, and aggressive styling.

The 2.3L 4-cylinder engine variant is from the sixth-generation Mustang, which Ford introduced and sold between 2014 and 2017. This generation featured a distinctive fastback-coupe design with an elongated roofline that slopes towards the rear, complemented by a small rear spoiler.

At its launch, the Mustang was offered with three engine options: a 2.3L 4-cylinder, a V6 3.6L, and a V8 5.0L, delivering between 305 and 440 horsepower.

In the United States, the latest seventh-generation Ford Mustang has just been unveiled, with prices ranging from $30,920 to $62,930. The GT version starts at $42,495 for the standard model and $47,015 for the Premium option.

In Vietnam, the Mustang is available through private importers. Alternatives in the same price range include the Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger, and Audi TT.
