**Volvo to Launch All-New Electric Compact SUV EX30 Cross Country in February 2025**
Volvo Cars kicks off 2025 with the upcoming launch of the EX30 Cross Country, its first all-electric compact SUV.
Volvo Cars set a new global sales record, reporting a total of 763,389 cars sold in 2024, an 8% increase from the previous year.
This sales record was significantly bolstered by strong electric vehicle sales. In 2024, Volvo sold 175,194 electric vehicles, a 54% increase from 2023, along with 177,593 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, a 16% rise. These impressive figures meant that electric vehicles accounted for 46% of Volvo’s global sales in 2024.
Building on this success, Volvo plans to introduce up to five new models in 2025. Leading this charge is the EX30 Cross Country, slated for a February launch, as confirmed by Jim Rowan, President and CEO of Volvo Cars.

Following the EX30, Volvo will unveil the large sedan ES90, described by the CEO as a flagship model, alongside the all-electric EX90 SUV in March. The Swedish automaker also teased updates to two of its popular models, likely the XC60 and XC90. Additionally, a PHEV model exclusive to the Chinese market will be introduced this year.
Volvo confirmed that the EX60 will join its lineup in 2026. Jim Rowan highlighted the significant progress made with this electric SUV, calling it a “step change.” According to Carscoops, the EX60 will utilize the new SPA3 architecture instead of the current SPA2 platform.
