According to Korean Car Blog, the new generation of the Hyundai Palisade is creating a buzz in its home market of South Korea, having garnered an impressive 33,567 pre-orders within the first 24 hours. This marks the third-highest number of first-day pre-orders for a Hyundai Motor Group vehicle, following the Hyundai Ioniq and Kia Carnival.

Korean customers have shown a particular interest in the hybrid variant of the new Hyundai Palisade. Notably, orders for the Palisade with hybrid engines accounted for 70% of the total pre-orders, indicating a significant shift in the purchasing trends of South Korean consumers.

As per Korean Car Blog, the enthusiasm for the hybrid versions of the Hyundai Palisade among Korean customers highlights the growing demand for fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles.

The South Korean automaker has revealed that the Hyundai Palisade hybrid boasts a fuel economy of approximately 7.14 liters/100 km, a substantial improvement over the gas-powered versions, which average around 11.11 liters/100 km.

The fuel efficiency of the Hyundai Palisade hybrid aligns with the broader trend in South Korea, where the top five best-selling models are all hybrid vehicles. This shift in preference towards hybrid SUVs like the Palisade coincides with a decline in the popularity of traditional internal combustion engine vehicles.

Similarly, pure electric vehicles in South Korea are facing challenges related to fire risks, limited charging infrastructure, and government subsidy cuts. These factors have contributed to the rising popularity of hybrid vehicles, which occupy a middle ground between internal combustion engine cars and fully electric cars.

In comparison, the first-generation Hyundai Palisade, introduced about six years ago, achieved 20,000 pre-orders in its first 24 hours of sales. Therefore, the 1.5-fold increase in first-day pre-orders for the second-generation SUV is noteworthy.

Korean Car Blog reports that Hyundai Motor Group plans to start deliveries of the gas-powered Palisade in mid-January 2025, while customers who ordered the hybrid version may have to wait until mid-next year due to the ongoing certification process.

In South Korea, the new Hyundai Palisade is priced starting from approximately 33,760 USD for the gas-powered version and 34,445 USD for the hybrid variant. In the Vietnamese market, the current-generation Hyundai Palisade is offered in four trim levels, with prices ranging from 1.469 to 1,589 billion VND.
